Default Had problems fitting Whiteline ARB at the weekend

Got my ARB and droplinks delivered last week for my 03 Wagon, so set about fitting them on Saturday,So I raised the rear of the car droped the Prodrive backbox down , removed the old ARB and bushes . Then came the tricky bit , I just couldn't get the new bushes supplied with the whiteline bar to fit in the origional saddle clamps, as the bush isn't wide enough. It seems I've been sent the wrong bushes And some new ones are being sent to me from Whiteline

Better luck next weekend I hope if the new ones come in time

Dave

They do look a bit odd, it should have been a very straightforward job otherwise. Doncha just hate it when things like that happen...?

looks like they've sent you the bushes for the heavy duty mounting kit.

I got a new pair of bushes sent today from Whiteline and they were exactly the same , As my wagon is one of the first 'blobeyes' I was wondering if it had different clamps to most ??? does anyone know if this is the case ? do the bugeye ones look like mine with just one bolt and a lug that slots into hold the other side ,perhaps ?

Cheers for the PM Dave sorry to hear of your problem. Your clamps are not the same as mine (March 2003 WRX Blobeye). Mine have a bolt going into a captive nut on one side & a fixed stud with a nut on the other. The old & new bushes are the same apart from the 22mm hole for the 22mm ARB.

The Heavy Duty mount has wider bushes & a wider saddle clamp than the ones you have been sent.

The only thing I can think is your mount is an earlier version perhaps that was used on the late Bugeyes. Only thing I can suggest is to send the old bush to your supplier so they can match it or ask them to try an earlier model than yours.

Thanks for taking the time to reply Mark ,as you say my brackets are different from most by the looks of it (mine is a Feb03 Blobeye WRX Wagon), they seem to be more of a 'C' shape than yours with only a bolt on one end and a lug on the other. Iwonder if they had a few left over from the bugeye and decided to put them on the earlier ones I wonder if anyone has a picture of a bugeye clamp they could post up ??
