STI5 Springs on UK Turbo
#1
Hi there,
I have the opportunity to fit some STI5 springs to my v5 WRX.
I assume they will fit, since they are the same car version - is this right ?
If so, will the standard dampers work ok with these much stiffer springs ?
Thanks for your help.
Steve

Steve,
You've got a UK car haven't you? Not a V5 WRX? Either way, if you are going to go to the bother of changing them then I would recommend Eibach springs over the STi ones. These work really well BTW with both STi dampers and standard UK dampers.

Thanks for the replies. Sorry for the delay - this email notification thingy does n't always seem to let you know :-)

Yes. I was just stressing it was the same version as the STI the springs came off.
Roughly how long does it take to replace a set of springs for the first time ? The reason I wasn't going to _buy_ a set of springs is that I hope to, in the next year, get a set of adjustable springs/shocks that I can wind down & make harder for track use. If it's a nasty job to swap the springs, then maybe I'd better wait 'til I get the proper bits. What do you think ?
Cheers

Well the swapping of the springs is not too difficult but really you need a proper ramp. The real difficult bit is resetting the Geometry properly once you've finished.
This is why I would recommend you get it done somewhere where they have proper Geometry setup. I would recommend TSL (Nottingham) or Powerstation (Cheltenham).
