i had the something similar on the front after i had Eibachs fitted to my 2003 STi
right this is where i show my total lack of technical expertise ... turned out to be a loose nut on top of the damper - the one you can see under the rubber cover in the engine bay - top of the suspension bit
there is supposed to be a seal or something in that nut that locks it in place when tighened up so it does come loose. Where all this was removed and put back on again that seal wasn't up to the job so the nut works loose.
Got the garage to replace both front nuts with other locking type ones and hey presto no more knocking
worth a try before shelling out on other parts if all you need are some new ....cough... nuts

Check they havebeen fitted correctly. I had banging noises after havingprodrive springs fitted. turned out to be fitted wrongly. Fine now apart from the back left which has banged since, but never been able to cure despite new shocks / bearings.

i had this on my sti when the eibachs were fitted. Cured the problem by putting spring tape round the top and bottom of the coil

Eibach themselves produce/sell a PVC Cover to go over the end of the spring to reduce noise. Give them a ring on 01455 285852. Cheap to buy, however requires removal/refitting of spring to insert cover.
let me know should anyone purchase/fit these, as would be interested to see if they do the trick
They hadn't come across Spring Tape BTW.

Try undoing the shock top nut a turn or two and going for a slow drive before nipping them back up! Sounds like there not seated properly! eibachs come with plastic tubing already on! Dont think a lack of tubing would cause those noises!!
