are top mounts the same fron and rear, as when i got hte car checked out after buying it i was told top mounts would need doing, got a set off here(HKS) but i assume these are for the front, and i think its the back ones that need doing,
question is how do i check for wear, and wil the ones i have go on the back?
again, not meaning to be stupid but tbh i haven't got a clue!!

top mounts are NOT the same front to rear....

they are very different

no real way to inspect them without removing the strut assy and having a look

look for signs of cracking/bulging - they sometimes wear through in the center
