Alignment - does the state of your tyres affect it?
#1
'scuse the idiots question but just wanted clarification on best way forward.
Recently did Don Palmers Driving Development Course and as a result my tyres have a strange profile, due to the fact they spent most of their time scrubbing sideways. I know this will affect the handling.
I want to get new Eibach/Prodrive springs and was wondering whether laser alignment could still be done accuratly then, in spite of my tyres, or whether it's best to wait until the tyres are replaced. (just tring to eek out the last few '000 before replacing them)

The state of the tyres shouldn't really affect the alignment as long as there is no masive differance between them.
If the kit used to do the line up is set up well then tyre pressure will affect the outcome. Make sure its done with all the pressures at normal driving psi. (as told to me by Dirk from Powerstation when I had my bumpsteer done and I belive him cos he knows what he is on about)
Regards,
Ian
