is standard suspension up to track days
congrats on a great forum guys, spent the last few days reading
right at moment race a twin engined 210cc subarukart, not got the same top speed as a scooby but great fun
but taking 2 years out to fulfill a personnnel dream, to drive on the great race tracks of britain, covering all the tracks touring cars do, plan is do 20 track days over the 2 years, each track at least twice
already decided (thanks to info on here mainly ) to get a 99 turbo and add the prodrive pp kit, also will have wheel alignment done but will the standard shockers and springs be up to 20 track days, got money left to spent but the more i spent the less track time i get
will finish this season kart racing so looking for info for next year
any advice or info would be great

IMHO:
Stock suspension will be poor on open tracks.
Minimum:
Anti roll bars
Noltec top mounts
Camber bolts
Good alignment
Good brakes
Good tyres
Nice to have: AST coil-overs; several other mods.
Best thing to do: Call Rich at PowerStation above.

Boils down to what you want from your trackdays, if you're looking for quick laptimes then it'll need some attention, alternatively if all your wanting is to loon about then the standard stuff will suffice and can be great fun. Coming from your kart unless you spend a lot of money it's always gonna feel like a barge
O and forget the PPP, there's more cost effective mods out there.

If the budget will stretch I'd SERIOUSLY think about doing something with the brakes, because standard they are Dire !!
Working from a totally standard car, to give you a serious years fun, I'd then change the exhaust, have the ECU remapped to suit, and then a few choice suspension mods as graham sets out above plus the bumpsteer modification, that will see you on your way.

thanks for the info guys, got a budget of about £2000 grand for mods exc tyres
ppp package is about £1600 fitted, which does seem steep for a filter, exhuast and remapp and been on the powerstation site and seems to do all the things covered in your posts
few more questions
are the brakes poor in their stopping power, bite or fade or all, would braided hoses and better pads boost their performance enough
how does powerstation exhaust, filter and remap compare to prodrives
as the car will about 7 years old replacing the springs, shockers etc would seem sensible, is their a package which you scooby drivers regard as the best, will still be used for some road use so cant be anything to harsh
will ring powerstation closer to the time but learnt on other forums you get some very informed info from guys driving and modding thier cars
any more info would be great

It is all very detailed, but there are some very effective focused mods that work remarkably well.
The PPP kit is not as comprehensive.
For your budget you can have the same chassis as mine (and Fuzz's)

Remember that the Prodrive mods are sold by dealers with the full backing of Subaru. So they will always be built to a price with a nice profit margin for the dealer, as well as being designed to last k's of miles without going wrong.
There are cheaper ways available.

I sold my Prodrive ECU and had John Banks remap my car. Much more power and torque over the Prodrive version and much better on fuel.

I did many a trackday with OE suspension. Brakes are a must do upgrade for track work - stick some DBA split bell/discs under std 4 pots with better pads for a good upgrade IMO. Zorst, filter and remap for sensible 250-260BHP. Springs will be better but not as good as decent coilovers and you don't have a big enough budget.
