HKS Hypermax Coilovers
I've done a search on the forum and found a lot of 'don't touch these' threads but all seem to be based on comfort rather than performance.
What's the opinon on setting up for rough (uk) roads? Looking at tarmac spec rallying here rather than track. Obviously comfort has no matter here whatsoever.
Cheers
Dave

Hi Dave
Here in SA the HKS kits are used extensively with very little negative comment.
You don't mention which HKS Hipermax kit you were referring to. There is the road biased Hipermax II or the Track biased Pro and some others.
I have found the Hipermax II to give a great ride on less than perfect road surfaces, better than std Sti suspension. However I use my car for primarily track days and I found this setup to be too soft.
I am running the Pro's now, and can confirm that these are a pretty hardcore "rupture your kidneys" track focused setup. Both kits however are able to accept a whole range of different spring rates.

I was very interested to see your comments! I tried the HKS Hypermax suspension and it was of the kidney rupturing variety! Interestingly when I contacted HKS UK they seemed unaware of different versions of the kit!
It makes sense that there should be and would explain why some people have found the HKS kit suitable for road use!
