Question Fitting uprated springs...

I'm thinking of fitting uprated springs myself (I'm 3 spanner ability) and realise that I'd need geom. setup after.

The only thing I'm apprehensive (sp?) about is undoing the strut/hub bolts. Car is only 12 months old so hope fully won't be seized but will obviously be tight (~120ft/lb..?).

Also do I need to mark/scribe out original positions of top & bottom mounts..?

Cheers
J

Cool

If you are going to get the car re-aligned then strictly no, but if the 'aligner' is miles away it would be good to get the lower strut/hub mounting back as close to current position as possible, so i would endevour to do this.
The effect of top mount movement is far less pronounced than any mis-alignment of the lower parts, so i wouldn't worry too much.

Remember to use spring compressers for the top mount removals, there is a fair bit of preload in the spring even when the top mounts are just about to come free ( )

After all this you can be promoted to '4 spanners'...you read too many Haynes manuals!
