Default Drivers side suspension strut

Driving along today and when going on un-even surfaces there was a clonking coming from the drivers side suspension. After having a good inspection the driverside front strut is $hagged
Couple of questions:
Should i buy new or from a breakers.
How much to buy? (new and second hand)
And where to source one from.
Car is a MY94 WRX (import)

I've had that happen to me mate, found out the strut was bent. Made a clonking noise over bumps.

Most places charged 60 quid for a new one (STI one)
