i had a full geometry set up a few months ago and the car was great. it now seems to be understeering again! i had an anti lift kit fitted at the same time. could this have affected it? how often should i check the geometry?

As long as you havent clonked the suspension in any way, it should still be fine! Most likely its something with your tyres (pressure/wear), then maybe your dampers are on their way out.... Also just check the rear anti roll bar isnt loose...
