Undo the top mount bolts, fit strut brace, tighten the top mount bolts

As MarkWRX says Sam it is that easy - did this a few weeks ago when I fitted an STI Strutter

Piece of cake

Just don't do the turret nuts up too tight as they snap easily- then you have a much longer job on your hands.
I think they are meant to be torqued to 14 lbft which is very light.

Thanks...for the info....

I paid £146 for a STI Carbon Fibre Strut from Ebay....The stupid idiot sent the item Recorded delivery!

Posted it on the 29th September and its still not here yet

Called up Royal mail, they say you have to wait 5 days, as its not garanteed for next day, now they say wait 15 days! Then i can claim up to £28!!!

Anyone know if Royal mail Recorded delivery which takes up to 5 days, does this include weekends?

Recorded delivery is just an audit trail and won't add any delay. If he's sent it 1st class then its meant to be there next day delivery.
Ask him for the tracking no. to check if its actually in the system and where it is at moment.
Track it on
http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm

Surely he claims the £28 and you get your money back?

Checked with Royal Mail, Recorded delivery, is not a garanteed next day service and it can take up to 5 days.

The portal is rubbish, iv checked it eveyday, also compared it to another item i recieved that was also recorded...not on there systems yet. So hoping it arrives to tommorow...

Matey, bear with the royal mail,we are shifting ridiculas amounts of mail and parcels at the mo,I delivered a parcel to an address this morning and it was post stamped sept 26th(first class)from southampton

As said mate, recorded delivery is not guaranteed its just basically there for the sender to get proof of receipt,If it was the same e-bay seller that i bought my strut from it will come mine took about eight days!

regards mark

I've got one of the wide bodied Cusco ones, needed a mate with a pry bar to apply leverage against whilst I positioned the 2nd side, as these tend to have a bit of tension in them pushing outwards onto the struts(if it doesn't whats the point). I'm assuming they all do this!

Sam,
I found that it was easier to remove the strut from the bracing either side.
fit the two brackets to the top mount bolts and then armed with 2 12mm sockets I was able to fit it in sweet.

I had to remove it for tmic purposes and found it was a doddle just to whip the bar out of the centre thus maintaining my nice shiney CF finish and have access.
of course if you on a fmic then this is all a load of tosh
