I have changed from 205/55/15 to 205/45/16 tyres which resulted in a slightly smaller rolling diameter (less than 3%). Twice while going up a ramp at a slightly higher than normal speed, the front towing hooks made contact with the road surface with a rather loud thud. Superficially, the bottom of the hooks got scratched, but should I get the car checked just in case?

I wouldn't worry unless you can see damage to the sump or something.
