Planning to change the suspension on my car.

Any comments on the choice of suspension? I know that Pi is much cheaper but is it any good?

Please help me decide. Thanks

AndrewC,

I think you mean 'approximates to'

Some approximations are closer than others....

Back to the question... Pi - are these just lowering springs, or dampers too?. If it is springs only, I might suggest that you get the Eibachs instead as this is now a fairly well-known upgrade which some people rate highly (in terms of VFM).

Cheers,

A.

I changed my stock Sti (Type RA) shox/springs for P1 stuff and it's fantastic! Prodrive got it just about spot on, tho it'd probable be a bit soft for a track day.

Whole lot off a 500 mile old P1 was £300... well worth it.

Come on guys, he's asked a perfectly sensible queston and this is the reply he gets - Shame on you all
RussP - he's asking about Pi springs not P1 one's, they are after market lowering springs

mkk33 - can't give you any advice really as I'm in the same boat but I've heard good thing about Eibach springs although they don't lower by much. The others I've heard about are H&R ones which are supposed to be good as well but drop the car a little lower. I'm probably going to go for the Eibach as there are a few nasty speed bumps around here

mkk33,

Thing to remember is that Prodrive use Eibach springs in their suspension kits, so they've got to be doing somthing right! I have used Pi springs before, all be it not on an Impreza, and found them to be the poor mans choice, in the same bag as Spax.
But hey, you pays your money.....

Personally, I'd trust what Prodrive trust. Eibach

CK1 wears Eibachs with it's origianl dampers and the difference was awesome.
There can't be that much difference in price because I think Eibachs are only about £130 or so.

I don't honestly know about Pi... but eibach certainly pre-compress the springs for 60 hours to eliminate the "sag" that often afflicts aftermarket springs after a year or two.

As stef says... magic difference for really sensible amounts of money. Do it!!

Cheers
