Ive heard loads of good stuff about the Powerstation Bump Steer mod. Ive heard "best £100 ever spent" etc etc. Anybody got anything to add or point me to a previous thread?

Also can anyone else in the UK offer the same service as Im in Scotland and PS is a bit far

Regards

Richie

Hi Richie,

Click on "search"; type 'bumpsteer', and you have alle the info!

And faraway?

Nov 4 we come with 4 dutch/belgian scoobs to Powerstation just for the b-s mod (and OK for a bit extra fun: MIRA ); on this moment I think there is no other place with their experience!

Am I right in thinking that essentially the PS mod consists of Castor/Camber toe in etc tweaking?

If so can any reputable geometry bod set it to the same degree of success? Would it be unethical of me to ask for someones settings (purely cos Im not driving all the way to PS)

Thanks again

Hi Richie,

The PS mod does consist of a full geometry setup, but prior to this they dial out the bumpsteer. I'm aware of many companies who can setup the geometry for Scoobs, but to my knowledge PS are the only ones who do the anti-bumpsteer mod for the Scoob. Obviously you will get improvements over standard by just getting the geometry setup nicely, but you get so much more (in the opinion of myself and many others) by having the bump-steer removed too.

Im sure they drop the steering rack, thus levelling the steering arms and then fully reset the geometry front and rear.

Thumbs up

Richie, PS move the position of the stering rack, and then do a full 4 whell set up.
*** Psyg and the other Belgium/Dutch people I have not found anyone I will trust to do the set up, and I will drive from France to PS to get the job done November 2.

Psyg I will be able to enjoy my new car 2 days before you
What day do you plan to go to MIRA ?

I had the full geometry and Bump Steer thingy done a couple of weeks ago and I genuinely couldn't believe the difference. Well worth the trip down from Manchester.
Highly recommended.

Richie,

On a good run, Cheltenham is only 1.5 hours from Manchester.

Come down, make a weekend of it

Cheers

Bad luck I'm going back to France Sunday morning.
Enjoy your self. MIRA must be the place to learn how you "new" car behave.

I plan to go to the track Folembrey 120km. North of Paris to check out my car.
They are open every second sunday in each month. Price is around 300 FF for half a day on the track.

In two days the 2001 Impreza will available in France.

Richie,
I believe Fiskens in Forfar can do the revised "Prodrive" geometry settings for you. I am told they use laser alignment gear etc (Although I have not had the mod done myself.)
I'm not sure if this is exactly the same as the Powerstation Bump Steer mod but at least it's not too far away for you.
Worth a thought perhaps?

Chris

P.S. Do you fancy a mini-meet/tyre kicking session in or around Dundee sometime? There seems to be a people on the BBS from the area.

Chris.
The 'so-called' Prodrive geometry settings and the bump-steer mod are two completely different things.
