My car (MY93 WRX) has Ohlins suspension, it is produced for the Japanese market only and is top of the range stuff. Very well finished using top grade materials.

35 position adjustable with 1-2 clicks giving noticeable feel of alteration.

So they do produce the the stuff for Scoobys.
Do you know of any dealers in the UK?
(Got quite a bit of Ohlin stuff on my bikes).

Sorry, I am not aware of a UK supplier.

I contacted Ohlins in Sweden by E Mail some time ago, they informed me that the kit was manufactured for the Japanese market only.

I was given a contact No. which I sent a fax to for info about the suspension, it (the requested info)came back in Japanese.

I suspect if you wanted to fit it to your car, you would have to do some leg work but it would not be impossible.

Question

Mike,
I have just fitted some Ohlins to my WRX...they are a great product but I'm wondering what setup you have dialed in ?

I'm on 13 clicks from closed all round and its not bad but its going to take a while to get it perfect, looking at the MitsuEvo (on the Ohlins website) manual they recomend 16 front and 20 rear but thats on the MIR series systems with seperate reservoirs..probably a different setup totally !!!

any ideas ?
cheers
Dan

Cool

Wind it fully up, (clockwise IIRC) the clicks are very distinct and positive. Wind back as you desire.

Count out loud, if you get to 36, shout <B>"D'oh"</B> at the top of your voice.

Start soft (ooerr) and turn it up slowly until you get the feel/balance that you prefer.

The kit you have will be the japanese spec Ohlins and I found it to be excellent.

There is no Ohlins (road) kit, or support for Japanese kits for repair/overhaul purposes in the UK. I will let you know when that has changed.

Prodrive recently purchased exclusive rights for the rally spec kits from Ohlins. (And at circa £7K per car they are welcome to it).

Cheers Mike,
Thats me sorted for the next few days....a click here and a click there !!!....do you know any good dentists ??

one serious question though, is it possible to unwind the system too far or does it stop at 35 clicks ? I have no manuals and the other system I was talking about has a warning about that....?? Its not a good idea to find out the hard (expensive) way !
