Question Fitting Powerflex rear drop links.

Fitting Powerflex rear drop links.

Just got some of the above to put on a MY00, is there anything I need to know before doing this DIY ? i.e. does the car have to be under its own weight or can you do it when it is jacked up ? Also noticed the links have an arrow on one side - should this be pointing forwards ? [ They didnt come with fitting instructions ]. I assume the grease sachet that came with it should be applied to the bolt holes.

Hi Jim.

Just did mine the other week.
I ran my car up onto my ramps as it has to be under it's own weight. Spray the bolts with WD40 the day before you want to do the job, (you'll thank me for that one!), the arrows should be facing forward and be visible from the middle of the car. The grease goes on the faces of the bushes and a spot over the holes too so that the bolt carries it inside the sleeve.
Hope this makes sense!!

Derek.

I have pics and instructions from when I fitted the Whiteline drop links (front & rear) to my MY99 on my website.

Sorry to hi-jack the thread but are these drop links symetrical i.e. do they have a specific top and bottom ?

Many thanks

The OE and Whiteline ones are symmetrical. Don't know about the Powerflex ones.
