My 93 WRX has an odd rattle from the front. A friend has now suggested that it may be the front ball joints. Has anyone else had this problem? I am struggling to find the cause of this rattle, as I've changed top mounts and bushes this seems to be the only place left to go.....HELP!!

Some more info would be nice..

When do you get the noise ? braking ? turning ? accelerating ? all the time ? cruising ? going over bumps ?

Have yoy tried jacking it up and checking for play/movement ?

Further investigations down a bumpy road at varying speeds with a mechanic onboard for advice, has led me to come to the following assumption. It would appear that whenI have fitted the Powerflex bushes, either the stainless steel inserts are slightly bigger than the original ones or because the rubber is harder it is not absorbing the vibration as much, or both! Now do I stick with what i've got or do I chance changing back to standard bushes and losing the noise?
