wheel spacers?
#1
Hello,
Someone suggested me to install wheel spacers on my MY98 Scoob in order to achieve a wider track figure. I have 17'' wheels (Speedline ST2) and they have an offset of 52.5.
I've also read that in order to keep the excellent handling of the Impreza it should be avoided to install wheels that have an offset smaller than 45mm.
So, I assume that if wheel spacers are to be installed in my car their thikness should not be greater than 7.5mmm (52.5 - 45 = 7.5).
I would like to hear your opinions about wheel spacers and theirs thickness values.
Regards,
Gustavo

Might not apply to Impreza's but when I was looking at widening the track of one of my cars I was told NOT to use spacers..they come with longer bolts which are stressed more..upset the handling etc

Personally I would never use spacers..
It will alter the handling... it will put a greater stress on your bearings too..
Why alter it by a few mm ? Stick to the manufacturer recommended specs...

Hi Mike... lol
I stick to the manufacturers spec of the parts I have fitted... lol
I dont exceed the boost spec of my uprated turbo.... I dont exceed the specs of the suspension...or the brakes....
True, if it doesnt meet the specs I require change it, but hey.. its still within the specs of the new parts..
