team, those who have had the PPP pring kit, do the springs visibly look the same. Is it possible to tell that the springs are at all different. I know quite a few people have had them done and some have informed the insurance and some haven't...

What I'm saying is would it take a forensic investigation to tell the difference, would the need to get a spring compressor out and measure the rate? Just worried about have my trousers removerd by the insurance industry again when thiers no difference other than 10mm and a few lb in spring rate.
Unless your going mad and lopping 50-60mm of the ride hight and the spings are completly different then I can't see a problem.

If I had a old escort and go to qwickfit with a broken spring, they would replace it with an aftermarket unit. it would be quite feasable that this spring would not be exactly the same as the original unit. Car may sit higher by 20mm or lower by 20mm and the rate could be quite different.

What are your views...

Dazza's-STi I'm also thinking of getting the Prodrive Spring Kit fitted to my Sti8 and decided to checked with my insurance company, to my surprise they said there wouldn't be any increase in my premium :0) they would just want informing (copy of receipt) if I had the springs fitted.

So my advice would be check your position with your insurance, as you maybe surprised :0)

Question

isn't the colour different (pink) on the prodrive ones - what's the standard colour?

FWIW for a WRX, standard = black, prodrives = blue...

Lightbulb

Std springs are black, Prodrive are red (with Prodrive written on them in white - albeit small)
If you're worried paint them black before installation!

Oh dear... tesco trying to remove my trousers! £90 for rest of year, so £180 per year ouch! When they are powder coated black, i would suspect it would be almost impossible to tell any difference. Robbing Bas£$%£^.

Unhappy

seems to be a standard fleecing amount by tescos - that's what they wanted for my WR back box - I voted with my feet and went to LV
