Coilover suspension, when fitted to an Impreza, is almost always noisy at the rear. This is due to the excentric loads transmitted by the offset mounting point on an Impreza hub.

These loads cause lateral movement in the damper this results in the damper body to hitting the spring. The noise is most pronounced at slow speed and is very annoying.

I'm interested too... not just cause the review above seems to suggest that the [AHEM] "previous" model they sold was flawed in it's design and yet they still sold them happily for years

Anyone had any fitted yet? If they work out they seem to be great value for money!

Jza

The design of the "previous" model sold by Scoobysport was not flawed.

It is fair to say that some customers have reported a knocking noise on the rear, not a problem exlcusive to Leda, and one of the causes can be as described. If anyone has this problem with Leda units then please contact us so we can investigate and resolve your problem.

Since the personel change mentioned in another thread and the subsequent additions to Leda, we have made significant improvements to our whole product range including all the Impreza kits and have not had a report of this problem on any kits supplied since then.

Kind Regards
Andy

Once something new and revolutionary comes along, its easy to consider everything that happened before as flawed.

This isn't the case, its just that things have moved on.

I have had Leda cvoilovers fitted since November 2002 and since day 1 the rears have rattled. It`s been back to Leda 3 times the last in march this year. In my opinion jza is corect in saying they are "Flawed". They work well yes but not perfectley. If Leda have found a cure for the rattle I would be interested to know what it is.

Boo,
We have made significant changes to the internal design of the units since March '03 and I am confidant that we can resolve any problem you still have with the suspension. Please either email or call me to discuss what we can do.

Kind Regards
Andy

So does anyone have any ROAD experience of these?

1/3 of the price of most `high-end` set-ups.........

Thumbs up

I've ordered a set!!
They should be arriving today/Monday.
Planning on using them with HKS Pillowball top mounts which Pete has confirmed will be a direct fit.
325/225 front and rear, 16 stage bump rebound settings.
Fronts are ajustable from under the bonnet.

Couldn't find any feedback on them here or 22B.com.
Pete confirmed they have sold 12 sets so far, including the set I have ordered.

Anyone got any questions in particular or do you just want to know how they perform?
I'll be taking Leda B's off to fit them, so I should know very quickly how good they are

Yes, me too, very interested to hear what you have to say on the new units Windows.

I may be looking to do something with my STI7 suspension very soon.

Cheers

Guys, you might want to get in touch with Powerstation. They've got something very interesting coming along in the next few weeks.
