what dampers ?

Hi,
The front dampers on my 98 scoob are dead and need urgent replacing. I can only find one make of damper for the 98 cars (KYB) on the internet. Are these the only ones available ? Is it possible to get a slightly stiffer damper than the original equipment ones ?
Edit to say, have Eibach springs
