Which one would you recommend to spend the best part of £150 on and why? In laymans terms if possible. Car understeers at present if that has any bearing on the outcome. I hear rave reviews about both.

Is bumpsteer a permanent mod or does it need re-aliging after a period of time?

Cheers,
Simon.

Bumpsteer part of the package from Powerstation is perm. The alignment part can of course drift over time/speed bumps/hit curbs/driving over potholes etc.

Cheers

yes, 4 wheel alignment is included in the Bumpsteer mod I think this is about £120 from powerstation and IIRC a 4 wheel alignment on its own is about £90

Im leaning more towards bumpsteer at this moment in time, purely on personal recommendations.

Presumably you have a P1 right? The MY01 and on cars have very little Bump Steer built in so it's really only the old shape which needs the BSM.

The BSM is far superior to Geometry alone (and Geometry can never get rid of Bump Steer) so that alone should decide where you go to get it done....

Question

is an anti lift kit a good idea once the bumpsteer mod as been done?

thinking about suspension mods.. but it seems to be peppered with myths..

can someone pragmatic explain the ideal suspension setup for a MY00? looking for compliant ride, but not too firm.. ideally no understeer..
anybody?
thanks.

I can recommend the TSL geometry alignment. I have had it done to my UK300 MY01 and it makes a huge difference to the handling. Understeer is still present but much less than before. Very neutral handling is OK for McRae and Burns but mere mortals don't have their reflexes and some understeer is safer for daily driving.

chrome,

If you've gpot £975+VAT to spend, get the Prodrive Pro-kit. I've heard it's the dogs danglies You'll get much better results with adjustable coilovers.

If you're on a budget, you won't go far wrong with some stiffer springs (Eibach's), solid drop links and uprated sway bars (anti-roll bars).

I've got Eibachs and solid drop links all round. Next mods are ALK, Bumpsteer, geometry and a stiffer rear swaybar. Hopefully that'll dialout virtually all understeer and I'll be well happy.

What Mutant_Matt says is right about bumpsteer, the only way to lose the understeer to best overall effect is to get rid of the bumpsteer. That and the rest of the alignment plus the solid ARB links is the "Bees Knees" for outstanding handling.
