MY00 Ball Joint - How Much?

My UK Scoob MY00 has just failed the MOT on a ball joint. Any idea how much they are and how much labour is involved? Is it worth getting one from a main dealer or will a pattern one be equally as good?
Car has had its 30k service a couple of hundred miles ago - is this something that should have been picked up then?

ball joints i havn`t heard of one of those going since i used to drive mk1-2 cortinas
i would of thought that is very unusual cant you get a second opinion

Thanks for the replies.
Have already had a second opinion - its definitely knackered
I imported the car from Holland so it only came with warranty. Still its 3 years old and this is the first problem I've had with it.
Still waiting for garage to get back to me with a price.
