Question

Will Impreza rear springs fit onto my 93 Legacy Turbo Est? Do these cars share suspension components?

Been there, done that.

fits, but the spring rates are not good, especially at the rear, which is on the bumpstops....

I am working on a solution.

If you want to just replace some shocks, and keep your legacy springs and tops, that's a good place to start.

If you want to fit lowered/uprated springs, get legacy specific stuff, you can get springs from spax, and the whole lot from Koni, probably special order though.

If you are getting coilovers, you can using different springs at the rear easily enough.

Any specific parts/brands you want to use?

Paul

Hi Paul

No specific parts/brands, just after a cheap solution. My Legacy has done a fair bit of towing (Prior to me getting it) and the rear springs seem a bit tired. The reson for asking about the Impreza springs is a local brackers has a set so I have been told?

If the rear shocks are low on gas, they will sag a little. If your back end in bouncing on undulating roads, then it's the dampers that need changing.

Cheap solution would be get some impreza dampers, and put your current springsand srping tops on them. I can't recommend using the springs from an impreza on the rear of a Legacy estate, but they seem okay at the front.

You can also buy just the dampers for about £75 each, you may well be able to go direct to KYB in the uk, try www.kayaba.co.uk for contact details.
