Default New spring not sitting flat

Blob wrx

Fitting tein springs and the top doesnt sit flat on the cup, I've fitted lowering springs before and sure I've never had this before, the bottom is located fine and so is the top until I tighten the nut, when on the car and compressed it may be fine but thought I would ask first

Should add I removed and tried refitting and it always ends up like this 🤔

Thanks for the replies

Yes the top hat is the 1 that came off

As it current is the wider part of the spring is at the bottom, can't imagine the smaller side at the bottom?

I'll turn it around later and take a photo

Spring is definitely the correct way round, when turned the other way it won't fit in the top hat as it's too big.

Comparing the old and new springs the appear to be identical in size so I'm at a loss as to why it won't seat properly

To me it looks as if the spring seat is 180 degrees out.
Have you put the conicle washer (9) on upside down locking the spring seat to the top mount?

Are you sure you've blob springs and not bug springs iirc there's a difference and its to do with the size and angle of the tophat.
Don is probably right aswell

That’s a front mount and perch.
That’s not a front spring.

What stops that spring design from dislodging, at full suspension droop?
