The struts will be fine. But, you have to have bump stops.
The original inverted struts have internal bump stops.
You need external bump stops to fit on the 22mm damper rod.

KYB 910046 dust boot and bump stops

Hey guys. Just bought the exact same items. So before fitting I need

1: bump stops.
2: dust covers.

Correct?

would you need a kit per shock? And does that kit fit the Impreza wagon 2002 shocks? Or would I require a different kit?

boxes say 334356 & 334357

The seller checked against my reg for the correct struts so I can only assume I have the right ones for the vehicle.

The wagon struts you've listed use the rear blob/hawk top mounts, dust covers and bump stops as used in this thread. See post 17:

https://www.scoobynet.com/suspension...ar-struts.html

The spring will also have a smaller top diameter coil.

Bug rear springs are not tapered and use the same 90mm rear stop shown in the thread, but a different dust boot - KYB 910072 - that kit does both rears.

They use this style of rear top mount
http://rogerclarkmotorsport.co.uk/st...ount-2000-2002
These fit the struts I listed.

I'd definitely check which springs and top mounts you've actually got, to make certain.

I'm positive they are still the factory fitted and have never been touched, if that's the case would the top mounts and springs need replacing as well to match the kyb's, or would the existing (originals) match with the new kyb's? (The springs are fine I've had them checked already). I've no idea about the top mounts until they come off.

Thanks for your patience, it's a bit of a minefield matching all these parts up.

If you've got bugeye rear top mounts (in which case you've got bug springs) you need kyb 334302 & 334303 and kyb 910072

If you've got blob/hawk rear top mounts (in which case you've got blob/hawk springs) you need kyb 334356 & 334357 and kyb 910046

Got my excel-g fitted yesterday and what a difference. Good job I got new top mounts regardless as they were rotten when they came off.

Its also solved 90% of the rattling, knocking and creaks coming form the rear so that's good as well.

If your springs are standard ride height? Use the bump stops as they are.
