Brakes or Suspension clunking MY99
#1
I have a RB5 and when I put the brakes on the first time following using them the other way (reverse, stop then pull away and stop) I get a clunk. It appears to be coming from the front left strut or there abouts.
My last car a MY00 did exactly the same, but from the rear left. I thought this may be the calipers moving slightly, should / do they do that ?
Does anyone know what it is ?
Cheers Phill C

I get the same noise when I reverse mine (MY99), its just the pads moving backwards in the caliper as you apply the brakes. The pads are a little smaller than the space they sit in. Never worried about it once I found out what it was.

My Pagid pads done the same due to the ends wearing away a little bit.I have had the pads welded were they were worn by a mechanic and they are fine now,you might be in the same sittuation as I was but its no problem really just makes an awfull knocking noise when going over bumps are braking slow.

GREEN SCOOBY,
That must be the problem then mate, apparently my car has been fitted with Pagid pads as well. I don't rate them that much though.
Thanks for the help, cheers Phill C
