HI all

Found these on ebay do you think they are any good ?

I am looking for replacement standard shocks for MY 2004 STI UK version and Subaru themselves wanted around £2000 for a set

Car used for every day road use and has bad nocking noises from rear struts

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3303751775...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Any advice appreciated

Same thing £200 less:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KYB-Front-...item234d3374db

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KYB-Front-...item567220cbf6

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Subaru-Imp...item56772dc5fb

Re the Pedders set up - Obviously twin-tube, not inverted. How can the wrx and the sti have the same rate springs and damping?

If you want to change to twin-tube design? You could use:
kyb 324030
kyb 324031
kyb 324032
kyb 324033

And use your sti springs or new PCA dynamics sti springs.

Or, if you find your sti suspension too stiff? You could use wrx dampers and PCA dynamics wrx springs.
Kyb 334461
kyb 334460
kyb 334359
kyb 334358

Bump stops for the twin-tubes would be:

front - febi 27848
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FEBI-27848...item43d0985a8e
OR
front - optimal f8-7662
http://www.spring-loaded.co.uk/prodd...ngle~-~F8-7662

Use dome side up, with existing dust boots
If you need new front dust boots:
http://febest.eu/FRONT_SHOCK_ABSORBER_BOOT/SBSHB-B10F

rear - kyb 910046 - bump stops and dust boots.

Hi 2pot

Thank you very much for the information

I will look into these options as I like the idea of going down the slightly softer route of a WRX set up.

Just a quick update

I am dropping the car round to Powerstation on Monday for them to have a look to quote for parts and fitting.

They can supply the KYB shocks and associated parts with set of Eibach springs also they are going to check out for any other worn bushes etc.

Will wait to see the cost !!

Those part numbers are correct for a wagon, using wrx rate springs.

Thanks, had to order them from separate companies due to stock levels what a pain! I'll be running PCA springs (there's 3 sets left if anyone's interested).

Don't forget, as post 2, you'll need 2 x febi 27848 or optimal f8-7662 front bump stops - use dome side up.

PCA have supplied some bump stops, are these not suitable?

The bump stops PCA normally supply are for inverted struts, which have internal bump stops - about 12mm internal diameter.

The front struts you've ordered are twin-tube struts - external bump stops - 22mm internal diameter.

Thanks, just ordered the bump stops. It's turning out to be an expensive job, hope it's worth it!
