Suspension Recommendations
Hi ya'll
I'm about to be become a father and I'm asking for advice on which suspension struts/springs and top hats to fit.
I'm currently running sti (red) struts with prodrive (lowered 25mm I think) springs with standard top hats.
With this setup it's a bone rattler, so I'm after something softer.
I'm fairly sure the struts are past their best anyway
Any advice would be appreciated
Cheers
Chris

I run standard WRX struts (04) and PCA Dynamics springs, nice drop but not stupid low, a bit firmer than standard but really soaks the bumps up well, designed by Peter @ PCA when he worked at Prodrive for the GB270 and is a cracking UK fast road set up that doesn't rattle your teeth and keeps your kidneys in tact.
Springs are £200 from Peter and WRX struts are 10 a penny or you can buy new KYB Ultras from Camskill for around £400 I think, maybe less.

Be interested to hear your feedback.
I'm considering going the same route as my rear shocks need replacing but all 4 dampers and springs need replacing really.

Having spoken to Scoobyclinic recently on the Pedders they reckon that the kit is of similar damping/spring rate to the OEM STI newage suspension. Of course that's a slightly wide ranging thing dependant on the exact model, but it gives you a guide. I'd have expected the Prodrive springs to actually be more compliant than the OEM rates so I'm not sure that the Pedders would do what you want. Unfortunately there's a compromise to be had between travel, comfort and control. Personally I feel that the STI kit actually hits the best balance.7
It's possible that a replacement set of OEM spec KYB Ultra SR's would soften the compliance a little as they do get sticky quite easily, even the fronts.

My car (03 sti) had bc's when I got it I changed these for a standard sti set up as I found them too harsh which to be honest wasn't much better I have just fitted a set of Meister r zeta R's and the ride is excellent still quite hard but no way near as harsh.
So far about 200 miles and for the price I can't rate them highly enough previously used Gaz ,Bilstein ,Koni,Black art design's on different vehicles.
Also great to talk to very helpful and knowledgeable and its nice to talk to someone who actually knows about what there selling rather than just a stockist
