The bolts that hold the front top mounts in place on a blob wrx, how tight should they be?

Fitting a strut brace and want to make sure they are retightened properly.

According to my service manual, the bolts that hold the front top mount in place are 20NM

That's 14 foot pound, that doesn't seem very tight.

How tight do you think they should be? How are they attached to the car? What forces are applied to them? By all means tighten them further, I'd be interested in finding out their shear limit.....

Lol, I think I will pass.

All points very true, just doesn't seem very tight. not much more than a pinch really.

When a strut brace is fitted, mine was quite tight on the outside of the strut towers, that normal?

Tight in what way - as if the brace is too narrow?

Yeah, good way of putting it. Not by much, just a little.
