Default Thoughts on Springs

I am looking on lowering my WRX blobeye and friends with coilovers have alot of bad things to say about them so I was thinking of going for Tein Springs instead.

Does anyone have them or have had them?
Is this a good idea?
I do not drive it daily and I would just like it to be lower than standard.

Thank you
N

Hello, new member and new wrx owner here

I e-mailed Paul and will hopefully get a set of these when the new batch arrives.
My car is 2001 and apparently i need the later rear top mounts? Also am i ok using the standard shocks with these?

Sorry if that's a daft question, i am new to this.

Many thanks

Can't answer this for sure, and I might just be opening a can of worms here, but I took some comparison pics of bug/blob front shocks and springs and the spring purches were different:

blob on left

blob at bottom

If you look at the actual springs the base seems to be the same shape (different top though) so not even sure if front top mounts would need to be changed as well. Also note that the standard bug spring is shorter

Blue springs are the Blob PCA Dynamics ones

You need the later rear top mounts, but, to my knowledge, you'll need these spacers, on the rear, as well:

$23 + $17.95 delivery

I got the spaces in case I needed them for my blob when changing from inverted to standard KYB shocks but didn't, must just be for the bug. Still have them somewhere...

Yes. They're for rear blob top mounts on rear bug dampers, to put blob springs in a bug. Or, to put bug dampers in a blob.
