Default Placebo or real???

Fitted a front strut brace to the car this morning, just been out for a run and it feels so much flatter and more direct in the corners.

Does a front brace really make that much of a noticeable difference or is it all in my head?

If it's real I'm going to fit a rear one too

Cheers

No it wont make any difference, as part as an ovrall chassis stiffening upgrade then it will add some benefit but individually it wont make any difference.

There is a good video ill try and find it.

Unless you have a 3 point brace the goes between the bulkhead and the strut tops, then that will make a noticeable difference

Most likely a placebo tbh, especially on a hawk. The standard chassis a pretty dam stiff as is.

I fully believed that strut braces were nonesense on any modern performance car. I was shocked to hear from Simon @ Chevron though when he told me a front brace would be one of the best performance per £ mods I could do to my car.

He says rear are pretty redundant due to the parcel shelf/chassis construction back there.

I fitted a front brace on his advise, it felt nicer to drive in similar ways you described - but it came at a time with a load of other mods, so who knows!

Sorry I meant which brand. I was curious if it was one of the heavy duty ones like Summit Racing which you felt a difference with or something similar to the standard JDM STI one
