Why confusing? The board turns your ECU into an live mappable aftermarket ECU with loads of extra features. It's 295+VAT for the board, 25+VAT for installation if you can't solder and 75+VAT for the software and cable dongle if you want to map it yourself.
The board comes with 2 OEM maps (or PPP if you prefer), knock control, diagnostics, twin map, MAFless or MAF based load, 3d boost control and OEM driveability to name but a few features. For an extra 100+VAT you can add ALS, LC, Flatshift and traction control.
It will get confusing if you are chasing secondhand ECUs as 97/8 ECUs are different between UK/Euro/STi/WRX/Forester/Legacy.
If none of that makes sense contact your nearest ESL approved mapper and they will sort it all out for you.

I can put whatever basemaps on people want but the idea is to map it from there. I quite like the idea of the original map on map 1 and the prodrive map on 2 though, good idea, cheers.
