I have one of these as well.
It is already set up to recirculate, hence the outlet that goes to the pipework feeding back to the turbo inlet pipe.
If you fit the supplied plate, it converts it to a 'vent to air' setup and does away with the feed back to the inlet pipe.
I presume that the further you wind the adjuster inwards, the more air is diverted to the inlet pipe and less air is vented ?

The more you crank it the harder it is for the valve to open and will shut quicker, you need to blank the trumpet off to make it completely recirculating or the inlet for full vta
