Default VF34 turbo, STI TMIC, STI Scoop and undertray

Hi Guys,

In december I bought a vf34 from a well respected member on here. I had it fitted and mapped by Duncan from Race Dynamics. Duncan mapped it to an easy 330ish BHP on the road, and said there was room for more on a RR map. The Turbo has seen 30k miles from the last 2 owners and 4k milea from me.

Duncan mentioned how strong turbo is and mentioned how well it was holding boost. He said I'd managed to get myself a really good one! With the gearbox being the limiting factor.

No play, no smoke from turbo, in full working condition.

I've decided to go twin scroll and am now selling the turbo for £375 +20 for next day delivery.
I'm upgrading to a FMIC setup and now have a Newage STI TMIC, with Y pipe in good condition for sale.

STI top mount intercooler and undertray I'm looking for £170 + £20 for next day delivery by DHL.

Or I can sell the turbo, TMIC and undertray for £510 + £30 for next delivery by DHL.

After that, you'll only need a few extra bits to go well over 300+BHP on a newage

I dont know, I bought the turbo from wiley, who bought it from b4dHK who had it from new, both good members of here. I'll check with them.

But, I can tell you that the turbo works perfectly! Duncan can vouch for that, if he can remember back to december when he mapped it!

I wasnt aware of it, otherwise i would have definitely mentioned it, but i can check details with wiley, and b4dHK who have had the turbo since new.

But, as I say, it works excellently.

Hi, its an original STI scoop and will be the normal subaru height. I'll measure it over the weekend and post it up.

Hi, how comes your going twinscroll and fmic? What power are you aiming for?
Noticed you mentioned that your gearbox is a factor (presuming its a 5 speed) are you changing that aswell?
Just a bit worried about the weld on wastegate of turbo, was it taken off origionally and found so got welded and sold on?
Just curious if it was a crack, how long will it last before the crack on the inside will take to open up.

A good deal on a twinscroll turbo came up, so I thought i'd go twin! didnt realise it would cost so much to do the conversion though! LOL

I'm aiming for 450BHP, so yes, my 5 speed would be the limiting factor. Although, I have a lot left to convert before I get there, its a long term project. Once my twin scroll is up and running, the next thing that limits power is the gearbox...

The turbo was so strong it broke Wileys engine, so when Wiley got his engine rebuilt, he went for big BHP and sold the turbo to me.

D4BHK (well respected member on here) said the turbo was on his car, which he broke and sold all parts for. But, when it was on, "the turbo was spot on" in his own words.

Between the 3 members that have had the turbo (with no problems) and turbo mapped, i'm sure the mappers at the very least would have picked up on any weaknesses. Jolly Green Monster mapped Wiley's and Race Dynamics mapped mine, between them, probably the best scooby mappers in the UK.

Your gearbox may break when mapping it.
Did any of them two confirm as to why it was welded. Im just guessing but someone found the crack etc, then welded it and sold it on.
Just put a post on our club forum to ask if its future proof.
I understand its working fully at mo but for how long before i come across a problem. I.e the crack breaking the weld. But doing some checks at mo.
