Default oil catch can

have D1 spec catch can , have a red one and blue one as never was sure what colour to go for , selling car so no longer required,

£30 posted each

are these 2 or 3 port and baffled or not?

they are 2 port (10mm size i think) but you can get fittings to change to a bigger size if required ,

I think they have a baffle in side , but haven't taken them apart to check ,

They are not baffled mate, save you taking one apart

What does a baffle do in the ones that have them?

When the air thats saturated with oil hits the baffles the oil is deposited leaving clean air to pass through/circulate - no baffles = oily/dirty air circulating!

so would you only want a baffle, if you were piping the breather back from the catch can into the air intake?

as when iv fitted them ive vented from the catch can to atmosphere?

put some scotch bright in the bottom to catch the oil in mine and works a treat.have the same catch can.

Even if you were going to VTA, then it's an idea to use a baffled catch can or as previous posts state, a type of substitute as the vapour would still contain oil and deposit or chasis leg or wherever you vented to.
