Default Who wants to swap their turbo???

I have brought a lateral md321T thats done 11k miles, shaft and impellers perfect, too big for me, got a bit carried away! Lol

Who's got a slightly smaller turbo to swap?

Cheers

Lol I'm running a 48 now @350bhp, I want 400bhp, it seems a shame to fit the 321T and down tune it to 400!

To be honest, if you don't want to change your gearbox (guess you have 5 speed) then stick with your VF48 and 350bhp. Lol

Not sure about that to be honest, thought the later hawk 5 speeds were about as strong as the 5 speeds get but can still fail anywhere between 300-350. Think 400 is still 6 speed or ppg territory.

Lol. I could be wrong though mate, worth asking the questions. I have 350bhp and my next stage is 6 speed upgrade followed by forged engine rebuild, then turbo upgrade, fmic, etc etc etc.. and probably divorce!

Its T,which will make without the problem around 450bhp on V-power alone and 480-490bhp on V-power plus 20%methanol

What i was recommend is MD321V or newer billet MDX321V

Not true mate, wouldnt personally go above 330-340lb ft. My mate had one with 332lb ft and the previous owner raplaced the gearbox 2 or 3 times. Suppose it all depends on how its driven.

It does depend how you drive it, I don't smash the **** out of mine all the time! I've been running 350 for ages, done plenty of launches and the box is still perfect

thing is some handle it and most dont once you go above 350ish , so saying its fine for you dont make it fine for some1 else, dont wanna sound like an **** but its an expensive bill when its go wrong.
If people are aware of the risks then it a decision they make

Well then surely, if you want the extra power and you break ur gearbox then instead of fixing that one, you fit a 6 speed, no? why not break ur original 1st! "if it ain't broke- don't fix it"

I'd agree with Pramas completely.

Also at those power levels its a case of WHEN it breaks, not WILL it break. Best to forward plan. What's the point in building a car you know is going to break at some point?

Over 400 ponies here and on a P1 5 speed...so far so good...
I do expect it to break one day but until then I'll stick with it. They are stronger than many think, there's guys on here running 450 on P1 boxes and have been for a long time without problems. Regular oil changes with decent oil and sympathetic gear changes goes along way.
Also to the OP, I'm running a TD05 20G at the sort of power level you want. Great turbo for the money IMO.
