It read as though you were putting AVCS heads on a non AVCS car because that's when the fun really begins!!

Out of curiosity, how much are you looking for on the avcs heads? I have a wrx and am wanting more power and just figuring out how much i will need to save.

Yeah I know what cars had what on them thanks but the car is irrelevant. Your post sounded like you were upgrading to AVCS heads for fitment in a non AVCS car.

Having been there and done that with my forged 2.5 2007 engine in my 1997 type R I was merely pointing out that putting AVCS heads in a non AVCS car is not a job for the faint hearted.

Take it you never got that white classic finished then as thats what you were working on last time i was down?

Daz,

I did it on my wrx bug that i had, You just need the sti ecu and add 5 more wires utilising the tgv harness and running a couple back to the ecu, Saying that are you reffering to a classic? If so i know nothing

Gaz.

Yup refering to doing the conversion on a classic.

We had an issue on mine when we first did it and its raised its ugly head again. Although mine are the three wire sensors at the back of the cam shafts so no cam position sensor at the front of the NS head.

Mine is controlled by a Syvecs so I'm sure mine has either jumped a tooth or there's a wiring fault occured somewhere.

I'm hoping to get to the bottom of it at the weekend.

Anyway this has gone way off topic free bump for Slab
