Billet IHI VF43 turbo for sale
Hi all. Recently removed Newage IHI VF43 for sale, fully working order, as a whole unit it’s covered ~ 86k miles
The good
- Fully working when removed from the car
- ~3.5k miles ago:
o Rebuilt with Turbo Rebuilder replacement internals (bearings etc)
o Fitted with Turbo Rebuilder 7+7 billet compressor
o Turbine and compressor rebalanced as an assembly by Turbo Rebuilder
o Fitted with a ported Kinugawa Turbine housing
o Spool is fantastic, ref this thread here : https://www.scoobynet.com/general-te...st-graphs.html
o The billet wheel blows a little bit more air at the top end than a the stock piece
o Stock compressor wheel provided also
The bad (non of these affect performance at all)
- ~2.5k ago I fitted a decat downpipe, in the process I needed to dremal one of the nuts off. I caught the bolt lug and turbine housing with the Dremal Turbine housing was caught by about 1mm deep (the casting is around 5mm thick so there is no problem). It has been filled with exhaust grade liquid steel for completeness. A new housing is ~£150 from ebay and dead easy to fit with only a 10 mm spanner and pliers, should you want to – though personally I wouldn't bother (also because this one is ported already).
- When removing it this time round one of the studs gnarled the threads and I’ve needed to helicoil it
- As above, 1 stud is missing. They are around £4 delivered from your local Subaru dealer or you can get a fitting kit from ICP. I would suggest only using OEM studs and turbo nuts by the way if you ever want them to come off again, lesson learnt from the problems mentioned above!
Removed in favour of a bigger turbo.
Collection from South Birmingham or postage at buyers expense. £250 (because of the turbine housing indiscretions)
Some pics:
This cut is at 45 degrees inside so it's not as bad as it looks!

Hello mate I am very interested in this turbo but just need to ask a few questions if you don't mind?
Will it fit my blob eye wrx?
I've sti inlet manifold with tgv deletes and sti pinks plus decat up pipe and down pipe what kind of power would I get?
And would be allowed to leave a deposit for turbo and pay the rest on collection?
Regards Sean

Yes it bolts straight on to any newage 01-07 wrx or sti. Although the VF43 is more suited to the 2.5 engines it still works very well on the 2.0 lumps.
I'd expect up to or around 350bhp. With supporting mods and possibly FMIC you can get these billet turbos up to 380bhp level. Are you still running a WRX intercooler? If so you'll need to change that for an STI intercooler and scoop under tray along with a new fuel pump before mapping and possibly a 3 port.

They are not difficult to get apart just take pictures of it as it does. You'll need a hand impact tool and a torque screw driver and some high temp red liquid gasket and a clean workspace (kitchen worktop...)
If it's bust anyway it's worth a shot.

cool No worries. Blown How? If it's the seals that have gone you can get everything you need from turbo rebuilder. They do kits cheaply and quick delivery. they also can balance the turbine/shaft and compressor assembly and paint mark for you to fit it back to the core.

fixing it is one option but I’m of the thinking that if it’s broken then it’s replace it and make it better
