Default Brand new fully forged ej20 cdb 2.3 engine unbuilt *bargain*

Hi everyone this is the engine out if my type ra that's in the for sale section . All the parts have been gathered, it just needs putting together. All parts listed were bought brand new from roger Clarke Motorsport, and have just been sat in their boxes, all ready to go.

Ej20cdb been bored to 2.2 and had the machine work carried out for the 2.5 crank.
Wiseco forged piston kit (£700)
Crowerod forged conrods (£950)
2.5 crank (£700)
Full engine gasket set, genuine Subaru (£492)
Arp head bolts and nuts (£222)
Oil cooler modine (£299)
Arp engine bearings x2 (£222)
Rcm oil pump (£187)
Blue point water pump (£65)
Composite head gaskets x2 (£164)

All the above cost the buyer over £3500, plus the origional block and machine work. That's another £1000 easily. It's all brand new and I'd sell the complete package for a bargain £2600.
I'd also consider removing the following items and selling for £2300
Oil cooler modine
Water pump
Oil pump
Head bolts
Composite head gaskets

Here some pics of it all

I think Cookstar means 2.0 cannot be bored to a 97mm piston without liners I think

Yeh as above steve witson motorsport sleeves them as cant run without darton sleeves (for2.2)the crank dont look billet either, not wanting to dampen your sales add but saves you any problems after someones buys it all.

Rcm are expensive, but my friend who I got this all off, prefers to use them as he likes the service they give.

I will speak to my friend about the engine bore in that case, I also have the paper work for the crank, so I can check that out too. Why do you say it doesn't look like a billet crank?

Just measures your bores mate if they are 92mm it's 2.0 if 97 then 2.2

I must admit I guessed at the price of the crank, as didn't have the paper work at home
With me. So I will look into that and speak with my friend.

I will bring some tools home from work and measure the Pistons and also the bores.

Can you elaborate on why you think the crank doesn't look it's cast? What to look for etc?

Thanks

If that's the crank box behind the picture it's an OEM crank as they do not do billet ones as far as I am aware, they do a nitrated(heat treated) one which is around £400 to buy new

Just use a ruler across the top mate there is a fair diffrances between 97 and 92 so will be easy to measure also looks a standard 2.5 crank they use to stroker a ej20 or ej22

My 2.3 uses a 75mm crank and custom 2mm longer rods not a 79mm lazy crank may as well just forged a 2.5

Hi mate no sorry I've been knees deep in my type r rebuild since the rain stopped. Il pop round my friends house towards the end of the week, get him to write it all down, and amend the advert then. But it does sound like the crank isn't a billet item .

I'm also on the look out for a nice bmw 530d touring, manual only , so would be happy to do a deal with this lot if someone has one for sale

I've measured it roughly with a tape measure, and it is 97mm. So that makes it a 2.2? Il post pics with some vernier guages tomorrow so everyone can see. Still trying to find out about the crank at the mo.

If this is a block done by Steve Whitson it will be a relinnered 2.0 Lt block. Steve has done quite a few of these and has had very good results with them.

I thought the standard bore walls were only about 4mm so it would of needed 5mm bored of it so would only leave 1.5 mm bores does that sound right lol

If you look very closely at this pic, you can see the bore walls are still about 4mm. But I don't know if it's sleaved or not. I will find out more when I see my friend.
