Seen one recently with diff brakes and shafts for 650 odd sold box separate for 270 if I remember correctly
Between 300 and 500 I'd say if box only
miles are great in fairness so on the higher price range
But it's not mine to sell best of luck with your sale

I have to agree with the above.
I think most people looking to spend £1500 on a gearbox are going to go 6 speed, and they will most probably get a rear diff and prop thrown in too for that price.

The dccd box is rarer than the std box and that does improve its value a bit
As for the close ratio bit all type r and RA boxes have shorter ratios than say a uk turbo that makes them feel quicker through the gears but also leaves the engine screaming at motorway speeds
There are versions with front helical LSD diffs that fetch a fair decent price but the normal run of the mill type r dccd ain't worth any more than the prices above
Get the box code off the bell housing and you can check online if it is in any way special
It should be ty754---//

Just as an example,I bought a version 4 type r gearbox set up for £550.
That included:gearbox,r180 rear diff, rear shafts and hubs.
Now granted that is the earlier ty52 box,so with yours being the stronger ty54 box it could command a bit more money but I wouldn't say anywhere near £1500.
I hope this helps you out a bit
