Now I wish I had the money for that but I will just have to stick with my ESL for the time being GLWTS .

Does this have any advantages over the ESL? And can this can this be self mapped or does it have a license and have to be mapped by a pro?

It has the following
MAF Less System
Real Time Live Mapping
Fully Plug ‘n’ Play
Inbuilt Advanced Turbo Control
Multiple Maps
Knock Detection & Warning
Active Knock Correction
Closed Loop Fuel Control
Closed Loop Idle Speed Contol
OEM Driveability
Anti Lag System
Launch Control
Gear Change Output (Shift Light)
Multi Stage Engine Speed Limiter
Individual Cylinder Fuel & Ignition Trims
Automatic Water Spray / Injection Control
So it has a few things in there over and above the esl.
As far as I know you can map one yourself.

My ecu is also a 6s. iirc you were running this ecu on a 500bhp car so will be mapped for your mods, with it being multi maps would one of the maps still be set as standard 280bhp?
Do you know what software and lead I required to remap?

The ECU was never mapped for a standard car. The base map on there was put on by my mapper from another car of similar specification to mine.
I believe you need the simtec/alkatek dongle or lead - software wise I an not sure what is compatible.
Andrew Carr mapped my car and has done for the last 10 years so he knows the car well. He isn't a million miles away from Leeds either.

The only things I can see that ESL doesn't have (I have ESL) is the shift light, individual cylinder injection control and auto water spray.

Im not sure how sophisticated the knock control is on the ESL but I know the Alkatek pulls timing when it detects knock.
You can also connect a Toucan to the Alkatek.

ESL uses the factory Subaru knock control, just the same by the sound of it.

Any other pictures of the ECU to show that it is Alkatec/Simtec ECU instead of the outer casing .

If you are genuinely interested in buying it I will open the case and take a picture of the circuit board for you.
