Default Black 05 wide track

Hi guys,

In a week or so my scooby is going to be available for sale so I thought I would make a thread now and see how things go.

Well. the reason for the sale is that summer is just around the corner and I really want a bike again. I got rid of my ZX10R last year and it has well and truly spoiled me. Now my car is no slouch as I will describe in a bit but nothing is fast compared to a well fettled 10R, and I want that buzz back. So that's the crooks of it.

Now then, the car.

It's an 05 wide track with DCCD, 116k miles on the clock but the engine was rebuilt by Scooby clinic at 107k. The tax runs out at the end of March and the mot runs out on April 18th. Regardless of sale time I will put a fresh mot on it as I am confident it will sail through. Depending on negotiations it may come with 6 months tax. I am the 6th owner and the car is fully HPI clear with no issues.

I will point out the down sides of the vehicle 1st so I can concentrate on the good stuff.

A. It does have stone chips on the nose as I would probably expect all of these cars to have, it is black so is rather unforgiving in showing them up, however it still looks bloody good.
B. someone has at some stage had the lights out and has subsequently taken a bit of paint off under each headlight. Not a lot but I don't want anyone getting any surprises, the upside to it is that the base colour is black so it doesn't really show all that much.
C. the rear bumper has a few stress cracks in the paint.

It sounds bad but please believe me, its not. Come and have a look, its a very nice car.

Good bits, mods are as follows

Exterior :

RCM wrc style rear wing with moulded stiffies.
Blacked out headlights
De badged grill
Light tint all round
Boot De locked and smoothed
Ht autos front splitter
Ht autos rear diffuser

Suspension and handling:

Xxr 527's 18x8.75 et35 with 225 continentals and 225 dunlops
Tein super street coilovers
Brembo discs and fast road pads
Perrin PSRS
Perrin strut brace
Perrin chassis lockdown kit

Interior:

Sod all, bone stock

Engine and performance:

ECUTEK ramap by RCM
Scooby clinic rebuild 8.5k ago with receipts to prove
RCM 80mm air intake with K&N filter
RCM Radiator cool panel
RCM stage 2 fuel pump
RCM manifold and complete exhaust system inc sports cat down pipe
Ecutek remap
Ported vf35 turbo
Uprated exedy clutch

I have stack of receipts from both RCM and TSL motorsport along with lots of old mots, tax discs and misc receipts.

It also has an RAC track star fitted but is not currently active.

The receipts for the car come to £20,423! Feel free to bring your calculator, Its been well looked after and drives to reflect the money spent.

The engine rebuild was done by Scooby clinic January 2013.
It consisted of:

Rear thrust crank seals
Main shells
Big end shells
full engine gasket set
new water pump
cam belt kit

Whilst this was being done it was also fitted with a brand new exedy clutch, so the engine and clutch are only about 8.5k old as is the cam belt. I did an oil and filter change 1k ago, using millers 10w50

The dyno print outs I have show the car at 353.8bhp with 332 lb/ft.

The grill will also be getting a fresh coat of paint.
I'll try and get some clean pics of the car up as soon as possible.

Im asking for £8,400... with the cash I will be buying myself a litre sports bike and a seat leon cupra diesel.

I will px, for either of the above with cash my way. I'm only after a car with a value up to £2,500

Cheers guys

I think it looks stunning, but the mileage might put prospective buyers off. The engine might be rebuilt, but mileage is mileage. Say diffs, wheel bearings, gear box, stone chips, general wear and tear,...

Love the look though!

Fair comment,

It does however drive spot on, if I put a sticker over the clocks you genuinely wouldn't be able to tell the difference between this and a 50k car.

No bearing noises, diffs are spot on. Its been well treated and is mechanically spot on.

I get the comment on wear, it does have a few stoner chips but certainly does not look rough.

Plus it was detailed 2 weeks ago

Stunning Scooby but again the mileage will put a lot of people off.

Its not just a case of the mileage now, which a prespective buyer may look past, but when they come to sell they will find it even harder to shift.
Lovely car tho.

I put a 2005 JDM STI on here a couple of years back, had 98K on the clock and I was only asking about 8k from memory. I really really struggled to sell it because many felt the miles were too high. ...lol...
Car was mint and nicely modified, had to end up taking £6500 for it.

90K+ miles really hurts imprezas values it appears.

Well it sure as hell isn't going for 6.5 ide rather burn the bloody thing.
when its ready for sale it will be well prepped with a new wind screen, grill repainted and in tip top condition. I'll more than likely be listing it for 8k as the lack of comments or interest with 100's of view's means it must be too highly priced with my 1st attempt and that's fine.

But I don't get what people are so bloody scared of, its an 8.5k engine with a drivetrain in perfect working order.... people still have this old skool fear of cars falling to pieces when they hit 100k.

Its had over 20k spent on the thing.
