Default FS: MY 1999 UK Turbo 2000 Turbo Wagon standard car

Sadly the time has come for me to sell my Impreza Turbo 2000 Wagon on a 1999 T plate in dark green metallic 64C. It's a UK car with 142,000 miles and an extensive service history (Subaru to 121,000 miles). The car has a factory electric sunroof as well as ice-cold air con and every journey I've made in it has been a pleasure. The car never fails to put a grin on my face when I drive it. However, we can't really continue to run 3 cars so she'll have to go leaving us the two "sensible" diesels

MOT to August 2014
Tax to 30.6.14

I purchased the car locally in Feb last year with 138,000 miles on the clock. Being my weekend car I've only put 4,000 miles on the clock over the last year. I bought it from a mature owner who had owned it since 2005. He and his wife used to regularly drive to France in it and put approx 60,000 miles on it over 7 years. He had purchased it from a family friend of his (another mature owner) who had the car from new.

I have always loved Imprezas and bought the car for weekend use (my wife and I run diesels during the week). In the year I've owned it the car has never let me down and I've loved every journey in it.

Shortly after buying it I had the radiator replaced due to a very slight weep. I also replaced both front and rear bumper support bars (the originals were rusted so I sourced sound replacements, anti-corrosion primed them and then stone chip painted them before having them fitted by a trusted local garage). I also repainted the upper rear spoiler as it had bad lacquer peel.

In terms of mods the car is standard with the following exceptions that I've done:
*clear front indicators
*uprated intercooler & Y-pipes (original will be supplied)
*Bailey dump valve (original recirc will be supplied)
*uprated top & bottom radiator hoses
*Ninja stainless back box (original twin pipe back box will be supplied)

The car has a factory fitted CD changer under the front passenger seat. I replaced the standard radio cassette (will be provided with the car) with a single CD tuner.

Externally the car is in good shape for its age with the usual chips and odd small dent to be expected from a 14-yr old car. There is however a large crease in the nearside rear door but the paint isn't cracked. This was done by the previous owner's wife. I have lived with it but did find a complete replacement door and glass on here for £25 some time ago so it would be possible to replace for sensible money. The alloys are tatty and would benefit from a refurb.

The interior is is good clean condition (a couple of small dark marks on the rear seat and very minor wear on the driver's seat bolster. The Recaro sports seats are firm but very comfortable and supportive (my wife loves them!)

Service history: the car has a nearly full Subaru service history to 121,000 miles. The previous owner's son was a qualified automotive engineer and carried out later services. Cambelt, tensioner & guides replaced 92,000 miles in Oct 2006 (invoice to prove). The previous owner replaced the cambelt himself at 136,000 in Oct 2012.

All electrics work and the air con is nice an cold.

As with any 14 yr old car there are some points that should be noted:
  • There is a chip in the windscreen that has been noted on previous MOTs but hasn't got any worse
  • I suspect the wiper inkages are worn as they sometimes clonk
  • I think there is a very slight oil leak poss from rocker gasket as when driven after a week standing some smoke burns off from the bottom of the engine
  • rear bumper has a small area of cracked paint but the bumper itself is not cracked
  • slight water ingress to boot - suspect rear light cluster seals?
  • NSR door crease as mentioned above

In summary, the car drives great, starts first turn of the key, idles steadily, pulls like a train in all gears and sounds awesome. Unlike many examples of its age there's no rust on the rear arches (I don't think I've seen any elsewhere either). It really delivers the grin factor and I'll genuinely be sad to see it go.

I am looking for £1,500 ONO.

The car is located near Williton, West Somerset TA23 0TU.

Thanks for reading my ad. ADE
