1998 WRX RA - low mileage, been stored for 10 years
** SOLD **
I have a white 1998 WRX RA which has been stored for the last 9.5 years. Was hoping to build a Group N gravel car but life got in the way and it's been sat all that time. I'm now downsizing houses in a couple of months and am forced to sell it (which I obviously should have done years ago.)
I'm thinking this would make an ideal track day car or weekend plaything - it already has the trick clutch.
The previous owner was a Japanese guy who worked for Canon in Scotland for a couple of years. He then moved with his car to France, which is where I bought it from. And drove it back through an epic snow blizzard on gravel tyres It was always used on the road by him, so I personally think the underbody guard and gravel tyres were taking things a bit far to be honest. Each to their own I suppose.
Here is the ad from when I bought it:
https://www.scoobynet.com/private-fo...ar-1998-a.html
* Reading, Berks
* Lots of trick parts, but engine has always run standard management and boost.
* Front and Rear Mechanical LSD.
* "Cross mission gear for SUBARU." - not sure what he meant by this - maybe some fancy gear seat? It's definitely synchro gearset and drives as normal.
* Strut Braces.
* 14point rollcage. (NB not competition homologated)
* Metal clutch and cover.
* SPARCO EVO driver's seat (green)
* Willans 4 point full harness.
* Under-body guard (seen in front pic starting under bumper)
* Alarm and Immobilizer, both sets of keys.
* Mileage remains around 45k miles, it has been SORNed for all but the first year.
* Regularly started and run about (on private roads m' lud). Starts easily, always has fresh super unleaded in it.
* The Ohlins shock absorbers were swapped out for AST from Powerstation, and I've done nothing else to it. (They're weren't proper rally shocks).
* Now on tarmac tyres (which are old)
* Had an MOT which expired around 6 months ago IIRC, but it hasn't done any mileage since then.
* Some of the paint looks a little sad close-up, having sad outside for the last 3 years.
* S registered, V5 and import docs to go with it. Plates already made up.
I'll stick it up on ebay next week unless someone makes me an offer to save me the hassle. As you may have gathered, I'm quite lazy so any decent cash offer will secure.
** DEPOSIT TAKEN **
