1999 Low mileage Red Classic
Up for sale is my 1999 UK Turbo
Details below:
Unmolested Red 99 UK classic.
Original 17" Prodrive/Speedline ST2s (also have a spare one in VGC)
Prodrive Backbox
Crystal indicators and side repeaters.
Full Grey unmarked leather, no wear on bolsters.
62'000 Miles with full history.
Still has the original dealers number plates and tax disc holder.
Previous owner spent the best part of £2K in the last 12 months replacing Cambelt and all tensioners and pulleys.
New Maf
New genuine Subaru Lambda Sensor
New Air Con rad and full Air con service
New plugs and all filters.
It's also had a set of re-furbished powder coated front calipers in the last few years.
Has approx 5 months MOT tax about to expire but will put 6 months on it if the price is right.
Only bad point is the usual rust on the rear arches, was my intention to get it done but time hasn't allowed.
Alpine Head Unit with iPod connection and a nice set of Kicker rear speakers and Pioneer fronts.
A tracker is fitted but isn't currently active but I have all the paperwork along with all the Sigma alarm paperwork with codes etc.
2 keys and 2 working remotes.
Price is £2600

Hi how low would you go, the price is a bit high for a T reg, even with the small amount of work done on it, my partner paid £2400 for his and his was the same but W reg, leather etc. Don't want to sound horrid, but the price is a tad high.

I'm in no rush to sell at the moment so will hold out for a good price, I bought it and paid a bit extra because it hadn't had any modifications, just my choice. It was piece of mind for me that all the expensive stuff had been done before I bought it and nothing had been stressed due to modifications. Unfortunately people will always want something for nothing and because someone else has picked up a bargain that's what everyone should pay, it also puts off other potential buyers because due to what someone else has said the immediately think they can get more for less. Late, good condition classics can be found for anything between £2K private and £4K from a dealer, I think it's reasonably priced with some room for negotiation.

Cheers for the comments guys, I know you can pick up a rough one for around the £1K mark but you get what you pay for and with mine it's a genuine UK car with a full history and everything is original other than a few cosmetic features and the stereo, very much a rarity now and as you say, if it's looked after should only continue to increase in value.

Sorry if I got your backs up, but only saying, my partner's has nothing done to it, no rust what so ever and the scooby radio, he has had 2 both the same, but like a twit he wrote the first one off, I have the money, but just find it just a bit to high in price, knowing what he paid for his a couple of months ago, it's just I like red and that's what I was looking for, can find other's in other colours but don't want them, sorry to offened. No problem, I just don't think comments like that are helpful, by all means you could have dropped me a PM to inquire and give your opinion. I'm sure there are good deals out there and if you search far and wide and are willing to wait you'll find them, you may even be lucky enough to find one 5 minutes down the road, I've picked up some real bargains in the past and in some cases driven them for a year and then sold them for more than I paid for them, it didn't mean I posted on someone elses advert that I'd paid a lot less for the same car, what help is that to the seller.
Anyway, no worries, it's up at that price, if it doesn't sell keep an eye on it, the price may come down but I certainly won't be giving it away, as you say, the red is nice and makes a change from the usual blue, green and silver. I know the rear arches will put some people off but I think anyone that has a classic and intends to keep it will have to get them sorted eventually.

As a fellow classic owner I would say IMHO Scoobynet is a great place for selling parts but terrible for selling cars.I have not sold a single Scoob on here out of the seven I have owned! Put it on Pistonheads and/or Autotrader & be a bit flexible with the price I'm sure it will sell.
Like you I started with a one owner, bog standard FSH car.The amount of time/effort /money I have put in to mine has made me realise I can't let it go for £2k so sod it, I'm keeping It! No Virgin Media now & I'm selling my bike so anyone want a Honda Hornet 600 ?........ Cheers,John
