Default Thinking of selling my 300bhp UK2000

As the title says, I might be forced to sell my classic as I have a business to run and the funds could be put to better use. I have 2 weeks for things to improve work wise before I make a solid decision.

This is testing the water for interest in selling complete or breaking so I can weigh up my options.

Ok heres the spec

X Reg 2000 UK Classic in 95H Mica Blue
118k on the clock, engine replaced with an 80k unit at 117k
Mot til November 2012, Tax til December 2011
Wallet full of history with previous MOT's and reciepts from Zen, Thwaites, Research Subaru etc etc.
Sigma M30 shielded Cat 1 alarm with 3 sets of keys and handbooks

Engine
Standard EJ205 UK2000 engine, cambelt and oil change 500 miles ago
VF35 Turbo
Standard headers/up pipe
Scoobyworld system and sportscat downpipe
FMIC
K&N Induction kit
Walbro pump
ECUTek map by Zen on the old engine and turbo showing 336bhp & 298lb/ft. Recently rolling roaded at Scoobyworld and produced 305bhp and 298 lb/ft as its not been mapped for the new engine/turbo yet but IS running safely. After talking to various mappers etc it is considered that 340/340 would be possible with a map and de-cats + 3 port solenoid.

Gearbox
TY7542VNAA 5 speed with exedy clutch. Flywheel is apparently lightened and is quite juddery in traffic so I had planned to do a swap or skim if funds allowed.

Centre diff replaced by Carnetix at 116k, all fluids changed
short shifter fitted

Brakes
Standard 4 pot calipers up front, standard rears all refurbed in 2009 with new disks all round + yellowstuff pads fitted in May.

Wheels
18" Inovit alloys with Nankang tyres. They were refurbed 2 months ago in metallic titanium but 1 is scratched on a spoke face, the rest are mint. I planned to change the tyres to Falken Ziex's if I was keeping it.

Suspension
Whiteline arb's front and rear
Whiteline adjustable drop links
Sti front shocks, standard rear shocks (I planned to swap to coilovers or all Sti red when funds allowed)
Lowered 30mm

Exterior
Resprayed in 2009 due to a cat D accident
3 Piece splitter
Fog covers
Black painted FMIC
Colour coded skirts, handles etc
Black insert crystal headlights
Black insert sidelights
Smoked side repeaters
Smoked indicators
Tinted rear lights
Tinted rear and side windows by InfinityFX

Interior
Seats replaced with bugeye black/grey seats, standard door cards
Richbrook gearknob and handbrake (needs securing properly)
Blue LED converted heater and speedo cluster
Datatool progressive LED shiftlight - (never seen one in an impreza)
Prosport Boost and Volt gauge in pillar pod
Carbon wrapped speedo, ashtray, cup holder
Black mats in good condition

Stereo
Kenwood KVT-522 flip out 7" touchscreen DVD
Uprated speakers all round
Amp wiring kit in the boot but no sub/amp
Rear view camera installed

The mot is due on the 25th so I will put it in for this in the next week. I cant see it failing on anything as nearly everything major has been replaced, but you never know.

As mentioned, it was a cat D in 2009 (previous owner) and I have £3500 worth of reciepts for all the new parts and work done for the repair. Its never bothered me, means I got a car with a ton of new parts on it and recent respray.

Bad bits.

The front end is quite chipped and need a new lick of paint really, theres also 1 or 2 trolley dings. The rear arches have started to bubble a little and I was quoted £200 a side to get this sorted.

The clutch is too juddery for my liking but you get used to it.

The heatwrap on the headers soaks up water and smokes so I want to take it off and was going to do this when I fitted an sti up pipe etc.

I'm looking for £2500 ono OR people to make an offer on parts.

PLEASE PLEASE DONT ASK "HOW MUCH FOR THE" - MAKE ME AN OFFER SO I CAN CONSIDER WHICH ROUTE TO TAKE

thanks lads, I hope so too but have to be realistic that its money tied up that I could put to better use. If I had other ways of raising finance I would, but the Impreza is my only option. Hopefully it wont come to it, but I have to keep my options open.

PM's replied, thanks for all the interest so far.

I will make a decision on selling in the next 7 days and be in contact with those who've expressed an interest.

Cheers, Stu

I'd love to mate. Jap Performance are doing a shoot with my car next wednesday at Bruntingthorpe, could always pop by if it's convienient?

On a side note, couldn't you sell a lot of the upgraded bits off it to free up some of the cash tied up in it, store it over the winter, then come next year when times are easier, put it back to standard or upgrade it again? At least that way you'll still have the car.

It was a thought mate, sell the vf35, stereo etc. Problem is I have no storage facility. The drive is only big enough for 1 car and we have 3 here. If I had to break the car completely then I have somewhere that I could do it in a few days, but storage for a long period isnt possible.

Which Wednesday are you at Brunters? Might pop over and watch them edit out all your imperfections, lol!

Isn't there anyone that could hang on to it for you, a friend or a relative with a garage who could store it for a small cost? Just trying to think of ways you could keep it.

It's next wednesday, the 23rd. Ha ha, cheek. Do you mean me or the car? The car is in better nick than me lol .

lol, the car mate! Just checked my diary and sods law, i'm having a tooth extracted on the 23rd so i'll be a dribbling mess from 11am onwards

Unfortunately, as I say chap, i'm limited on storage options. I used to break/restore Mazdas up until last year but gave up my lockup when the cars dried up as it was costing too much to use as a parts store.

TBH, if I do sell her then i'll just wait til I have the £ and do it bigger and better next time, proberbly with a 3 door or blobeye.

No worries dude .

Anyway, enough of clogging up your thread, GLWTS. It's a cracking car at a very very good price!
