2003 (Jun-03) Subaru Impreza Wrx Sti JDM in WR blue – GL Model
Bought as an import by me back in June 2003 from Litchfield Imports so one owner car. NOW SOLD
nearly 77,000 miles at time of writing but used daily,
MOT until 23rd June 2015 (car never had an issue getting through MOT)
Car Tax is on PLG due to import and so £230 per annum
Full detailed service history both paperwork and kept on a spreadsheet
All history and receipts present including RR graphs
Only run on Optimax/V-Power.
Serviced every 6 months interim/full irrespective of the low mileage in accordance with the service schedule I obtained from Iain Litchfield as I bought the car from Litchfield Imports back in June 2003. Gearbox oil and rear diff oil changed annually. Spark plugs and CAM belt changed a number of times.
I was going to put this car up for sale after putting it through it’s MOT. However, the other day in 5th and 6th Gear when you put your foot down the clutch is starting to slip. I would be replacing the clutch with a rating which would fail quickly if the turbo was upgraded. So I am offering it for sale now with the price discounted should somebody want the car and upgrade the turbo and clutch as it saves them some money and saves the waste of throwing away a newly fitted clutch. At the moment the car is perfectly driveable.
After being only a year old the car was hit in the rear passenger door and this was repaired by Scoobyclinic and never been a problem. Five months ago the car was rear ended (shunted low speed collision) resulting in the rear panel behind the bumper being replaced and the rear bumper being replaced. The repair has been to a very good standard and looks better than before.
Other points to note are the front wings need some attention just behind the mudflaps as the paintwork is bubbling. The rear wheel arches on both sides are rusting (seen from the inside) and this needs sorting at some point. I have had a quote of approx. £800 to fix the front wings and arches. Also, on the dash the rear diff light keeps flickering as having had the sensor changed to check it did not resolve put waggling it about would suggest a loose wire which needs soldering. Another minor issue is the EGT Temp probe has snapped but I can purchase a replacement for this and can be fitted at the time of replacing the clutch. Sometimes there is a knock that comes from the rear as you set off and I never been able to trace what it is, nothing major.
Passenger side speaker does not always work properly. It has never bothered me as I did not buy the car for it’s sound system and the radio/cassette is from my old MY00 car.
Standard specification
Remote central locking
Electric windows x 4
Limited Slip Differentials front & rear (standard)
Cat 1 Cobra alarm, Blackjax, Tracker (not used)
Being a JDM car, it benefits from the following standard items:
Twin Scroll turbo 2.0 litre engine (different internals to UK Car)
Larger profile cams with AVCS
Larger valves
Forged con rods
Nitrated and cross drilled crank
illuminated Defi instrumentation with sweep-on-start
Electric folding mirrors
6-speed with DCCD with Auto Mode and Manual and closer ratios 5th and 6th versus UK Spec.
Quick rack steering
8,250 rev limit
Equal length exhaust manifolds
Reverse alarm, also programmable rev limit light
Orange illuminated dash with sweep-on-start and variable dimmer (converted to MPH)
Titanium STI strut brace
Automatic intercooler water spray (also manual button) (not used as running FMIC)
Clutch only start
Rear windscreen-wiper
Modifications
Fog Light integrated into rear light cluster so much neater.
3 gauge pod in centre in place of clock. These are SPA dual gauges, warning limits can be set for these gauges, gauges look at Turbo Boost, EGT, Oil Temperature, Oil Pressure, Inlet Temperature (temp of air feeding into engine from intercooler) and Fuel Pressure. Separate knocklink fitted.
PSI Secs LCD Monitor which plugs into the diagnostics port and allows error codes to be read and view a lot of what the ECU sees such as battery voltage, boost pressure and many others.
Mapped by Bob Rawle, rolling road results 355bhp/380ft lbs.
Full 3” RCM system with silencer in centre, spare, 2.75” Milltek system with CAT, Standard centre CAT for MOT’s
Uprated fuel pump
Turbo Blanket
Heat wrapped headers and exhaust
Header Tank Spacers
Twin Scroll headers ported by Harvey Smith.
71 degree thermostat
RCM Lightened Pulleys
Full T25 Suspension set up (Iain offered to rebadge car as a T20 but I declined! That was a stupid mistake in hindsight)
Prodrive OZ 18" 10 spoke alloys in gloss black,
Hybrid FMIC with CAI. Forge Motorsport VTA dump valve, Oil Catch can. Smaller more compact battery to fit smaller area following fitting of FMIC.
Spare Standard OEM STi Intercooler with dumpvalve and pipework.
Spare 4 x OEM 17” Gold Alloys (could do with refurb) with RE070’s (good tread but one tyre with strip of rubber delaminated), also full spare set of worn RE070’s tyres stored in the garage.
Scoobyworld blue mudflaps on front (the rears bracket broke so taken off)
Comes with 2 cobra fobs, One standard subaru key and the rare titanium key.
More pictures of the car can be found under my albums and clicking on MY03 JDM STi, the recent pics are the car with black wheels.
Being a 12 year old car and used daily there are various chips to paintwork but is in very good condition for it’s age.
The car is up for £5,000 NO OFFERS. NOW SOLD
If I get no interest at this price then I will just have the work done myself. That is clutch fitted, MOT, Service, wings and arches repaired and re-advertised at a higher price and if it does not sell then I will keep it.
I have been totally honest about the car and being a one owner I can advise the full history of the car.
I have only advertised this on Scoobynet as hopefully it will go to somebody who can have some fun with the car as currently the last nine years I have only been using it to go to and from work.
I will give it around two weeks and then I will need to start sorting the car and so remove it from sale.
I am based in West Yorkshire.
Thanks for looking.
Damian.

It's had a new rear door and rear bumper low speed collisions. Also I don't know where you get it needing a cam belt kit? If somebody wanted to replace it then that's fine but it is not due on the next service.
