Blobeye WRX STI Type UK (Black) for sale NEEDS ATTENTION £2995
SORRY SOLD - trying to remove listing
Subaru WRX STI Type UK
First registered 2004 (53 plate)
68600 Miles
Black (metallic)
Blobeye
The Good.
Blouch Billet turbo (fitted less than 500 miles ago), full Ninja exhaust with Hayward and Scott up pipe, HKS BOV, high flow fuel pump (in tank), 18 inch Prodrive alloys (professional graphite respray by Lepsons), Kenwood DVD / CD player, brembo brakes, momo steering wheel, rear STI spoiler, front lip spoiler, strut brace, running custom SlowBoy Racing map (estimated 300 plus bhp. I have not had a rolling road test and therefore do not wish to make wild claims regarding BHP. However as many people will testify that Neil at SlowBoy racing know’s his stuff!).
Recent front tyres, battery and new drop-links, recent oil change, PSH, recent brake discs (front) and pads (all), valid MOT (to late 2015, with no advisories on last test). Currently SORN (since Jan 15).
I am no mechanic (the art of understatement) and this combined with a fairly recent long term hand injury means that I don’t “tinker” myself and so all upgrades have been fitted by professionals.
I have owned the car for 5 years and she is always run on Shell fuel (97 Ron, which she is mapped for).
The not so good.
2 x alloys have curbing.
Paint flaking from one of the windscreen wiper arms (I am trying to be as honest as possible)
I would say that the paintwork reflects car’s age and the fact it was my daily driver for a number of years (she isn’t a trailer queen or weekend only plaything). In fairness I would say the interior is pretty good for an 11 year old car.
The issue.
Had a replacement alternator fitted in November 14. Since then the car has “eaten” two power steering belts after very few miles. I have not replaced the belt since the last occasion (New year’s Eve). I am assuming that the local garage (not a Subaru specialist) that fitted the alternator and the two replacement belts has made an error of some kind, but that is merely an assumption on my part, given that the car displayed no issues prior to the failed alternator being replaced. But please check the car out (or have it checked by a specialist) before any “enthusiastic” driving.
Due to the afore mentioned injury driving a manual is now painful and that combined with the annoying belt issue mean I have decided to sell “as is” at a price that I hope reflects the fact that it does need attention.
Battery has been disconnected since Jan, but did start immediately with a jump (albeit 3 weeks ago). Engine attention light shows amber. The last time the failed belt was replaced the engine light returned to normal e.g. belt fails and light comes on ... belt replaced and all returns to normal.
Just in case anyone hasn't already noticed, PLEASE NOT THAT THIS VEHICLE IS IN NEED OF ATTENTION. I STRONGLY SUGGEST THAT THIS CAR IS COLLECTED BY “TRAILER”. I will not be replacing the power steering belt prior to sell to ensure that the car is checked before being used “properly”. Please be sensible, treat the car as a non-runner, get her fixed and then enjoy her.
Pictures in my garage (obviously I can email you some if required, just ask).
£2995 (no offers at this price please). Car is located in Kent (Medway). I am not looking to break her for spares, I would love for someone to enjoy her again.
