Classic facelift bonnet vents??

Do Classic bonnet side vents have undertrays to stop rain water from getting in?

Can some one help me I have a 1994 L reg jap import. It's a Subaru 2000. I am looking for a bigger one like the sti 2003 one. Wot will fit my car. Pluss on my side vents, left & right, they look like they are blocked off under the bonnet . Or is it not & they do have a air vent that I can not see. Please help me. If they r just for show, can I put real ones that do let in air to the side wear the air filter is on the off/side . Help please
